Wood burning stoves not only provide a sustainable source of heat they can provide the perfect focal point within a room, creating a homely and comforting atmosphere, transforming your living space.

In our showroom we have a good selection of wood burning and multi-fuel stoves on display including stoves from Jotul, Scan, Charnwood, Stovax, Dovre, Yeoman, Esse and more. (Please see our Useful Links page for links to websites of stove manufacturers we are retailers for). Some stoves have a cooking top or even an oven, such as the Charnwood Island IICT, the Firebelly Razen Cook Stove and on display we have the beautiful Esse Ironheart Cooking Stove and an Esse EW wood fired cooker.

With such a wide range of stoves available to suit every home; large or small, contemporary or traditional, it is important that a few basics are considered when contemplating a new stove:

»The appropriate size of stove for both the intended space and for your personal requirements

»
Is there any additional work required i.e. lining of the flue, installation of a hearth or mantel etc.

»
Fuel Costs

»
Is there an existing fireplace and if not, is the intended space suitable? Are there any Planning Regulations to consider?
Multi-fuel stoves are very similar in appearance to Woodburners. Some stove manufactures offer multi-fuel options on their standard wood burning models. Multi-fuel stoves have a grate which allows coal and other smokeless fuel to be burnt (wood pellet, peat) giving you more choice over the fuel you burn although it is worth noting that only wood fuels are carbon neutral.

If you are interested in having a wood or multi-fuel stove fitted in your property please contact us at Dorset Fire and Chimney Centre to arrange a site survey, during which our experienced engineer can discuss your requirements with you and advise you on suitable appliances for your room. This will be followed up with a no obligation written quotation. Please Note: Surveys are free within a 20 mile radius of Bridport, however a fee is charged for longer distances which is refundable should the quotation be accepted.
